Athlete: Paul Davidson,   Category: Memorable run

Whilst on holiday in Norway we were traveling north in our car when we came to the Visitors Centre that straddles the Arctic Circle (Polarsirkelen). The scenery was dramatic and barren - this was enhanced by the yellow light caused by the low incidence of sunlight hitting the earth's atmosphere and it gave it an eerie and surreal feeling. I couldn't miss the opportunity of a run there. I set my GPS on a course that followed the line of the Arctic Circle (66 degrees and 33 minutes). Once out of sight of the visitors centre there was no distinguishing features that you could navigate by and it was very easy to get disorientated - I was totally reliant on my GPS for getting me out and back safely. I only ran 5k out and 5k back along the line but it was the most memorable run that I have ever had.
