Sunday 10th March 2013 10:30 am ***RACE ON *****

Grantham Athletic Club’s  annual ‘road’ race, Newton’s Fraction has been raced over a variety of distances in the past finally grew into a half marathon in 2006.

Newton’s Fraction Half Marathon now its 8th year,is an accurately measured 13.1 mile race ,run under UKA rules.

Starting and finishing at the South Kesteven Sports Stadium the ‘half’ heads out of Grantham into the Lincolnshire countryside onto the Grantham to Nottingham Canal towpath for nearly 3 miles to Woolsthorpe by Belvoir, taking in a couple of testing hills along the way before returning back into the stadium for a ‘grandstand’ finish.

Each year we plan to improve the running experience, in 2010  we gave all the finishers of the Half Marathon a technical T-Shirt and in 2011 we introduced chip timing.

We have plenty of onsite parking, refreshments, Lincolnshire Runner stall, bar and we are giving each half marathon finisher a technical T shirt and a goody bag.

Some comments taken from the Runner’s World website from runners who took part in 2012:

This is a regular in the calendar for quite a few at the running club now. Year after year it's turning into a real favourite........

Loved it, even the hills!

My first time at this race, and it won't be the last! Very friendly, very well organised, enough challenges for everyone beginner or seasoned half-marathon runner.....

Stunning scenery and first rate organisation made this my best race for years.
