And Little Apple 3K Fun Run

Sunday 11th March 2012 10:30 am

Grantham Athletic Club’s  annual ‘road’ race, Newton’s Fraction has been raced over a variety of distances in the past finally grew into a half marathon in 2006.

Newton’s Fraction Half Marathon now its 7th year,is an accurately measured 13.1 mile race ,run under UKA rules.

Starting and finishing at the South Kesteven Sports Stadium the ‘half’ heads out of Grantham into the Lincolnshire countryside onto the Grantham to Nottingham Canal towpath for nearly 3 miles to Woolsthorpe by Belvoir, taking in a couple of testing hills along the way before returning back into the stadium for a ‘grandstand’ finish.

In 2011 we celebrated a record number of entries together with a new ladies course record time from Beth Eburne of Hinckley Running Club.

Each year we plan to improve the running experience, in 2010  we gave all the finishers of the Half Marathon a technical T-Shirt and in 2011 we introduced chip timing.

We have plenty of onsite parking, refreshments, Lincolnshire Runner stall, bar and we are giving each half marathon finisher a technical T shirt and a goody bag.

Our official race photographer for 2012 is Runner-Photos.

Prices have been held for 2012 making this one of the best value Half Marathons.
