2017 marks 12th edition  of the Newton’s Fraction Half Marathon run under UKA rules,on an accurately measured 13.1 mile route, the race is one of  the county’s most popular road races.

Organised by Grantham Athletic Club the race starts and finishes on the track inside the South Kesteven Sports Stadium,Trent Road Grantham.

The race heads out of Grantham into the Lincolnshire countryside onto the Grantham to Nottingham Canal towpath for nearly 3 miles to Woolsthorpe by Belvoir, taking in a couple of testing hills along the way before returning back into the stadium for a ‘grandstand’ finish.

Plenty of onsite parking, refreshments, Lincolnshire Runner stall, bar and we are giving each half marathon finisher a technical T shirt, medal and a goody bag.

This is what you said in 2016:

....just wanted to say thank you for an excellent event yesterday-- I run marathons most weekends of the year and ran your half as a taper for a big event next week- it couldn't have been better! Perfect venue; organisation; route; marshals; markers; finish area; showers; friendliness; efficiency-- I will be recommending it to everyone I know!

...finally got to do this race and it certainly didn't disappoint. A very well organised and friendly event. I found the course tough going in places but the camaraderie amongst fellow competitors and the wonderful support from marshals and the public on route got me through...

I could have chosen a flat event for my first half marathon but were's the fun in that?! Great experience, really enjoyed it.

Excellent organisation. A varied course with road and towpath surfaces. A couple of hills to make it interesting. The marshals and people at the drinks stations were excellent. The stadium finish was great. I'll be back next year,.

Must do on race calendar... Have returned for the 3rd time. Great race!
